Enfield Council has proposed to construct a series of wetland features at the northern end of Chase Green. The Friends of Enfield Chase Green and your local Councillors are totally opposed to the loss of this ancient open green space that is loved and used by so many. The proposed change from open green space to wetlands is not welcome.
It will result in numerous problems including the accumulation of litter, creating hazards for those walking across the green especially at night, as well as the loss of a green open space that is used for many reasons by local residents.
We reject the concept that these wetlands are needed to protect against the effects of climate change and that they will improve the New River loop in any way. #Saveourgreenspaces
