I have been a Councillor since 1994, originally elected for the old Willow Ward now Town Ward since 2002, where I have lived almost all my life. I served as Opposition Leader in 2000 and Leader of Enfield Council from 2002 to 2010. Presently Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group.
As a Ward Councillor, I seek to represent all my electorate and in particular wish to protect the Ward from inappropriate development and keep Town green and clean.
I currently sit on the following committees:-
- Full Council
- Shadow Cabinet Member for Planning and Enforcement
- Chair of Crime Scrutiny Committee
- Planning Committee
- General Purposes Committee
- Overview and Scrutiny Committee
Aside from my Council work, I am a school governor of St. Andrew's Enfield. I am a Trustee of The Old Enfield Charity. I also served as Chairman of the North London Branch of the Historical Association and am a member of the Edmonton Hundred Historical Association.
My interests include most sport, being a member of Middlesex County Cricket Club and a Spurs supporter. When I get the chance, I enjoy reading and travel, especially to sites of military significance.
